NOTICE OF RACE
1. ORGANISING AUTHORITY
1.1. The Organising Authority for the Regatta is the Committee of the Fisherrow Yacht
Club, 97 New Street, Musselburgh EH21 6DG.
1.2. All enquiries and entries should be addressed to the Regatta Manager: Barbara
Robertson social@fisherrowyachtclub.com.
2. RULES
2.1. All races will be sailed under the current RRS 2017 - 2020 except as amended and
added to by the Sailing Instructions, the Prescriptions of the RYA and Class Rules.
2.2. The Regatta will be a Category ‘C’ event.
3. ELIGIBILITY
3.1. Handicaps will be based on PY handicaps, but may be altered at the discretion of
the Race Committee.
3.2. The Committee reserves the right to reject or rescind any entry in accordance with
RRS76.1. To cancel, combine, divide, or alter the classes at their discretion. To
make any alteration to the sailing instructions they consider necessary.
3.3. For the duration of this event, all persons taking part will be granted temporary
membership of Fisherrow YC.
4. FLEETS
4.1. Within the dinghy class and sharing the same start as the rest of the dinghies we will
recognise a Greenhorn fleet and Silverhorn fleet.
4.2. Eligible for the Greenhorn fleet are those within their first two years of dinghy racing /
sailing.
4.3. The Silverhorn fleet is just for FYC members who make up the middle of the class,
those not a Greenhorn, but not yet winning races.
4.4. Visitors should indicate an eligibility for the Greenhorn fleet at registration.

Races will be held in the bay off Fisherrow
A Skippers briefing will be held at 14:00 on the day.
6. ENTRIES
6.1. The entry form will be available on the FYC website, from the Regatta Manager and
from the Clubhouse.
6.1.1. The latest time for entries is 15:00 on Sunday 1st Sept
6.2. The fees for the regatta are £5 per entry.
7. RESPONSIBILITY AND INSURANCE
7.1. The safety of a boat and its entire management, including insurance, shall be the
sole responsibility of the owner/entrant.
7.2. The organisers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury,
howsoever caused, to the owner, his skipper or crew as a result of their taking part
in the Regatta.
7.3. Every owner warrants the suitability of his boat for the Regatta.
7.4. All boats taking part in the Regatta must have insurance cover against Third Party
and Public Liability for an amount of at least £3,000,000. (FYC Club boats have
insurance already provided.)
8. SCORING AND PRIZES
8.1. Scoring will use the Low Point System.
8.2. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 boats overall.
8.3. Prizes will also be awarded to the top boats in the Greenhorn fleet and the top boats
in the FYC only Silverhorn fleet.
8.4. Average laps will be used for all races.
9. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
Sailing instructions will be made available on the FYC website and will be available on race
day in the FYC Clubhouse.
10. SOCIAL
Buns, tea and coffee will be available on Saturday from 13:00. Hot food will be available
after the sailing and the bar will be open. The prize giving will take place in the clubhouse
that evening and members with musical talents are encouraged to come down and entertain
us with the open mic.
11. SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Buoyancy aids must be worn by dinghy sailors.
