Joining the Club

FYC is always keen to attract new members, whether experienced sailors and boat owners or newcomers to sailing. We will be hosting "Try Sailing" events throughout the season to allow total beginner to get a taste of dinghy sailing, and we have training courses available for members with qualified RYA instructors to help novices improve their skills and confidence.

Fees are very moderate (individual: £90, family: £120, under 23: £45, under 17: £25, Associate: £35, group: at discretion of Committee).

The Club has several dinghies that may be used by members: an RS Vision, two lottery-funded RS Fevas, a 420, 4 Picos, 2 Toppers and a Laser. Members pay a fee of £60 that covers them for all dinghies for the entire season - for those in their first year of sailing this is discounted to £30. The rules listed in the Handbook must be followed by members using the Club dinghies.

Members may park dinghies, canoes etc. in the Club's boatyard and on the Prom - see the membership form for details. Space in the yard is limited and cannot be guaranteed - priority is given to boats that participate in Club activities and members who pay their subs promptly.

Membership forms are available in the Clubhouse or below in
