The bar is open at sailing events and every Friday evening from 9pm, you'll find the prices a pleasant surprise! The club rooms may also be hired for a small fee if you have a special occasion coming up. The strength of joining a sailing club is meeting like minded enthusiasts who can share tips and opportunities, we club together to make sailing easier and more fun.

Training - Learn to sail

As a RYA Recognised Training Centre, we use our qualified RYA instructors to run training courses to help novices improve their skills and confidence and get them sailing independently. You can learn to drive a safety powerboat, use a vhf radio, rescue boats in distress. (Available to full members only)

The Club has dinghies that may be used by members: an RS Vision, Laser 2000, two lottery-funded RS Fevas, a 420, 4 Picos and a Laser with all three rig sizes. Members can pay a fee of £60 that covers them for all dinghies for the entire season - for those in their first year of sailing this is discounted to £30.

Members may park dinghies, canoes etc. in the Club's boatyard and on the Prom - see the membership form for details. Space in the yard is limited and cannot be guaranteed - priority is given to boats that participate in Club activities and members who pay their subs promptly.

FYC runs an keenly contested and fun yacht racing calendar. We have regular races around the cans in our hazard free local waters, beginner friendly sternchases and races for the more adventurous, around Inchkeith and back again or passage races to Aberdour. We hold some useful equipment for the use of our members, yacht climbing ladders, mud walking boots and a hull polisher, we can provide mast storage over winter and the club is a great place to find crew and friends. In addition yacht memberships can use the club dinghies without an additional charge.

Yacht moorings in Fisherrow Harbour are managed by East Lothian Council. The Harbour Master is Alex Stewart, contactable by phone: He can discuss what moorings are vacant and what size of yachts can be accommodated.
